As a nod to the uncertainty of the medium’s empirical authority, Maymon approaches visual history in sculptural and performative terms, infusing his creative process into the already charged stature of the images selected.

This edition builds upon this continual translation by collapsing the exhibition into an artist book. The walls of the Museum are transformed into pages, where the viewer zooms in and out of the images, guided by the exhibition’s numerical system, which stands in for the book’s page numbers. In addition, each work receives a new layer of meaning through a series of philosophical aphorisms written by Raphael Zagury-Orly and Joseph Cohen, which deviate entirely from the work’s original context, situating the project as a visual meditation on the many ‘archaeological’ layers of time, genre and space.

23 X 30 cm, 110 pg

English
ISBN 978-1-988689-00-5
May 2018

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2782/7178/products/FurtherReadingCover_2x_8a877a6b-495b-412b-9756-0aa659f3b0cf.jpg?v=1524923395
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2782/7178/products/IAN0048-coverindex_2x_1ddf194d-d085-4ba9-9b67-76502e5b7a86.jpg?v=1524924625
Texts by Maayan Sheleff, Christopher Eamon, Berta Sichel
Design by Noa Shwartz & Koby Barchad
Hardcover, 2012, English & Hebrew
24.5 x 17.5 cm
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2782/7178/products/WorldOrderthumb_2x_0a221ee0-6a36-459d-a31e-4857899c7c7e.jpg?v=1528651151
happy-tonite
Happy Tonite
2010
First Edition
104 Pages
24.5 x 21 cm
Hardcover with PVC veneer
Jester Lux is an artist book focused on Natour’s so-called digital drawings (some of them were presented in the sphere of social media and some others never presented before) in which the artist – via Jester, his “nonhuman collaborator” – appears as the protagonists of surreal scenarios and absurd situations.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2782/7178/products/KaramNatour_EnterTheView2_2021_04-min.jpg?v=1620666655
beyond-the-distance-a-distance
Beyond The Distance - A Distance

The photographic itself is the subject of Noa Yafe’s work—she makes it into a thing, literally. Pivotal to her practice the constant desire of humans to create sovereign ideologies by drawing limits, borders, and frontiers, sometimes even controlling nature and moving soil. Littwitz’s interest in a specific stretch of land—namely Israel and Palestinian territories—stems from its status as a crossroads of religions, geography, and politics; water, soil, and sky; mythologies, beliefs, and momentous transitions. Littwitz’s works echo its biblical and modern narratives, presenting us with diverse examples of transition, transfiguration, and the formation of political constructs through acts of belief. In her cosmos, the field of action comprises both the artistic objects she presents to us and their non-presence in their original sites. Trail markers removed from a path, tin triangles that indicated minefields, floaters that once marked the border between Jordan and Israel, barrels that delineated military firing ranges, and books that once had a place on people’s shelves are all elements intended to trigger personal and collective memories, and thereby probe received assumptions and beliefs.

2021, English, 112 pages
Softcover, 16.5 × 23.5 cm
ISBN 9788867494743

Tamar Getter’s comprehensive exhibition, “GO 2”, emphasizes her work’s combined, multi-voiced, exaggerated and grotesque utterance. The structure of the heads changes over time, and every few months they are recast in glass, presenting a never-ending metamorphosis reflected within the sculptural form. A second series of ‘tombs’ echoes Yahalom’s broader pre-occupation with burying and entombment. In these works the mold used to created the glass heads becomes the work itself. The second book is trimmed diagonally across its corners, and presents a series of drawings made on carbon paper kept in the artists back pocket. A sphere that allows for an intimate experience of observation and reading, and which takes into consideration the habit of observing images and texts on a cellular phone – the pocket resident of the present time.” (Hila Cohen-Schneiderman)

2021, MOBY: Museum of Bat Yam, ISRAEL

Curated by Hila Cohen Schneiderman

Soft Cover, 11,5 × 19 cm., 352 pp.

Monograph summarizing fifteen years of painting by Elad Larom.

Graphic Design: Field Day Studio (Zohar Koren and Idan Am-Shalem)

Texts: Dr.Shaul Setter, Sharon Kantor, Ran Kasmy Ilan

Author: Elad Larom

Publisher: The Artist Residence Herzliya

Language: English, Hebrew

Pages: 244

Size: 23 x 32 cm

Weight: 900 g

Binding: Softcover

ISBN: 9789659019007

Availability: In stock

Price: €35.00

An artist book by Gil Marco Shani

Published by‎ Revolver; 1st edition (1 Feb. 2007), English, Paperback, ‏66 pages, Design by Gila Kaplan.

Shapeshifter is the first comprehensive publication documenting Israeli artist Ran Slavin’s work. Active since the early 1990s, Slavin’s transmedia production encompasses narrative films, immersive installations, photography, soundscapes and CGI multiverses. A perfect example of what could be dubbed ‘Israeli Futurism’, Slavin’s tech-based output elicits a reflection on the conflictual dynamics at the basis of Israel and the ongoing metamorphosis of Jewish identity. The book offers an overview of the artist’s main projects to date through a visual flow that echoes the floating cinematic imagery and futuristic ethereal phantasies that make Slavin’s work so distinctive and mesmerising. Drawing from cinema, videogames and anime, Slavin’s art reminds us that the distinction between reality and dreaming, the material and immaterial, and the visible and invisible has never been so blurred as in our post-pandemic times.

Edited by Francesco Spampinato, 2022
English / Hebrew
320 pages
Softcover, 20.5 x 27 cm
ISBN 9788867495375
€ 40 / $ 45, Published by Mousse

A comprehensive monograph documenting the last thirty years of Odili Donald Odita's artistic practice. Her works and installations underscore formal aspects and the power of beauty—of wounds, cuts, imperfections—that underpin her artistic endeavor. From the outset of her career as an artist, Darvish has persistently presented as one the perspective of an animal’s spirit and a woman’s soul, not differentiating between their degrees of pain, suffering or fracture due to social constructs and cultural patterns. His queer gaze shows how different bodies of color, and kinds of manhood perform in the space in which he works - resulting in a continuum along which identity, ethnicity, physicality, sexuality and style engage, against all odds, in a precarious interdependency.

The book is divided into three chapters. Each examines the eros-driven relationship between the photographer and the photographed. In the first chapter, “Bruises,” Einy’s subjects and scenes merge into a series that mixes staged and documentary portraiture. The second chapter, “Thicket,” activates the idea of the working brief using online platforms such as Fiverr for the creation of images. This chapter includes an essay by Dori Ben-Alon exploring Einy’s oeuvre in light of local identity politics and the notion of the photographer’s signature eye that is embedded in both fashion and traditional documentary photography.

The third chapter, “Be Water,” makes room for Einy’s ongoing dialogue with his subjects, in which the original roles of subject/object are abandoned in favor of friendship and collegiality. Written between 1926 and 1935, after Sarah Kafri emigrated from Russia to Israel, the text exposes a seemingly unbridgeable gap between the image of the stoic pioneer woman, and the figure that emerges from these pages—one marked by sorrow, loneliness, and heartbreak.

Gur Lavy Karni scanned and printed the original pages, and gave them to her 97-year-old mother, to erase the words of pain she feared would be exposed to foreign eyes.
